Current Music: Blank File - Sonata Arctica
Got this from a friend who doesn't want her name to be mentioned here.

Let's see how much you know about my taste in music.
-Name my favourite music genre.
-Name three of my favourite *insert my favourite genre* bands, and tell me why you chose the bands you did.
-Name three of my favourite *insert my favourite genre* composers, and tell me why you chose the composers you did.
-Name three of my favourite *insert my favourite genre* lyricists, and tell me why you chose the lyricists you did.
-Name three of my favourite *insert my favourite genre* singers, and tell me why you chose the singers you did.
-Name three of my favourite *insert my favourite genre* songs, and tell me why you chose the songs you did.

If someone has commented before you, answer first and check what other people have said after that. It's much more interesting when your answers are based on your own knowledge about my taste in music.

Yeah, I'm a person with no life. That's why you have to stand entries like this. Sorreeh.

A Sad Little Twist Of Skirt

Heavy metal with its weird and wonderful subgenres.

Saa, I think I'll pick Stratovarius, because it is the band I most associate with you. Silentium, because you have a serious thing for it^^ And as the third one: Epica. Why? Well, I was just listening to Feint and it just seemed like a suitable band. Epica manages to combine interesting vocals, emotional lyrics (that somehow remind me of Silentium) and that extra twist of freshness and something new.

Composers and lyricists caused me some trouble, as in very many bands either the whole group or then just a single person is responsible for both.

Composers:
Lordi, the whole band. Um, Magistra Nocte and Devil Is a Loser. Listen and be amazed.
Timo Tolkki for creating way too many songs that just haunt you until grave.
Kamelot: "Somebody please stop me from praising this record band, cause I might go on and write a book".

Lyricists:
Matti Aikio: He masters the skill of describing desperation, bitterness, hurt and love in mere words.
Tony Kakko: "As you can see, when you look at me, I'm pieces of
what I used to be. It's easier if you don't see me
standing on my own two feet. I'm taller when I sit
here still, you ask are all my dreams fulfilled.
They made me a heart of steal, the kind them bullets
cannot see"
Because I have a serious thing for several of his songs.
Tuomas Holopainen: A lot can be said about Nightwish, but I still find most of their lyrics appealing if only because I love hunting the references to books, movies and Shakespeare that are scattered throughout most of their songs.

Singers:
Timo Kotipelto: He has talent and charisma.
Cristina Scabbia: I happen to like her voice very much. And for some reason there is something similar in your and her voices. I can't quite pinpoint what, but *shrug* yeah.
Candice Night: Because her voice differs relatively much from the ones you usually like.

Songs:
Gethsemane:
"Forgive me for I don't know what I gain
Alone in this garden of pain
Enchantment has but one truth:
I weep to have what I fear to lose"

Sing In Silence:
"Cannot shake the monkey off your back
Did I see a spark on your eye
Was it just the last light of hope
That died, hope that died

'Forgive me, Father, my daily sin...'

How can I forgive you, never leave you
You know that if you live like, you will die like
Haven of Emotion, Mournful Ocean
Heiress of the Evening Sings in silence

'I need to have now, my daily sin...'"
One of the songs that finally converted me: Sonata Arctica is love.

Whiter In Silence:
"Wither in silence my lustful flower
wither and scream until it's over
I shall crush you in my arms and we shall bleed"
One of the most violent, provocative and interesting lyrics I've encountered.
